Sorry for slow response! Here are 2 photos of the white mould currently on my hotbin. Temp. inside it is 52 deg C.

I had a lot of problems getting the temperature up - and then it suddenly took off! I posted some possible ideas as to why this happened under the 'Hot...Last edited by Annabel; 05-15-2016, 08:00 PM.

Is the 'white fluffy mould' not really mould, if, as you say, fungi and moulds die off at 40-60 degrees?

I've just googled 'compost 60 degrees white mould', and found on a permaculture website discussing hot composting the info. that if your compost goes...

Thanks, WiseOldBloak. Yes, I've been adding more BA and SP than suggested since it got so wet - but you have to have some initial sense of what are normal...

Well, in a manner of speaking. I've been struggling with it since last August when I set it up, since when it has varied between 10 and 20deg on the lid...
