  • Hot Bin and Heavy Rain

My two Large Hotbins following Heavy Rain let the rain into bin, resulting in pints of lechlate for days afterwards.Hotbin have asked me to trial a new lid designed to prevent this from happening, but sadly this still does not keep contents any drier. I will move bins under cover. ie Garage.

Yes, I have exactly the same problem - for some reason the bin is not waterproof and rain does leak in resulting in massive amounts of lechate. I have tried gaffer tape around the port in the lid that houses the carbon filter but that doesn't help. I cant work out where/how it is getting in. Maybe the garage is the answer until the design is modified.
