I've just opened my HotBin for the first time, 3 months after setting it up. I understand the science about why we should not expect too much from our first batch, however, as my Bin had been running at an average temperature of 50 C I was hoping to get some reasonably friable compost. In the event, I'd rate my Bin as a "HotBin Mulcher" rather than a composter. Some grass came out undigested looking more like dry hay than compost. After pulling out the woody armature I'd use as the starter pack, the remaining material was like that I might have got from a conventional compost heap after 3-6 months or so - only good for mulching.

I'll soldier on for the next 3 months in the hope results will improve.
