Bulking agent

What is the most satisfactory bulking agent at local garden centres. I've tried several and they are either too fine or too coarse. What do people use? I've bought one lot from Hotbin but it is a very expensive way of buying it.

I've only ever had the one from Hotbin, it does seem to me to last quite well. I'm on my third bag, and had the Hotbin now for a couple of years.
