Fruit flies, those minuscule tiny flies that want to infest the blow hole on the top (vent).
I understand that they can reproduce at an alarming rate, so read about how to get rid of the little bliters . The answer is essential oils, especially herb scents, Basil, lemongrass, eucalyptus and peppermint. A few drops around the top vent and flies are gone. Apparently they don’t like the strong smells.
I have tried this and it works, I dribbled a few drops around the vent and the lid edges, within the hour, no 🪰 👍👍
