  • Bugs on outside of hotbin

Tiny bugs have completely covered the outside of my bin. We have our bin just outside our back door, so not pleasant. Has anyone else experienced this, what is the cause and how is the best way to deal with it?

I imagine you are referring to fruit flies. These are usually found around compost. They are basking in the warmth of the walls of the HotBin , no doubt. Apparently wasps are fruit fly predators.

I have often had flies and small maggots crawling around the edges of the front panel of my bin. A kettle of hot water sorts it.

Are they brown? I sometimes get lots of tiny brown bugs, I believe they are harmless soil mites.
