Beginners query

I just want to clarify that everything that goes into the bin should be 5cm long or thereabouts. Hoping to start my bin this week. I have lots of dry crocosmia leaves , I can see my evenings will be in front of the tv snipping away, the fun keeps on coming !

Hello slowworm, yes try to chop stuff as small as possible - 4/5 cm should be fine, the aim is to avoid large pieces blocking airflow and to speed up decomposition. Repetitive strain injury is a risk with hotbin ownership!
