I've had my HotBin for a couple of months now - we did a slow start, adding stuff gradually in the cold weather and just letting the bin do the work. The temperature is currently sitting at 50C on the lid (obviously warmer inside) - and I've just purchased my second bin! We have a (very) smallholding and quite a lot of compostable material, the first bin is nearly full and not ready to harvest yet, and the sheep poo is piling up. I only have one little query - the lid of the bin lifts a bit, presumably with the heat. Is this OK?
