Hi I'm new. Hope this is the right way to enter the forum. I'm not very good at forums!
I have not yet bought a hotbin but probably will. I am worried about one thing and that is attracting rats. I have one of those metal tumbler composters on a stand so rats can't get at it anyway. But I'm sick of clouds of flies because the compost is always soggie. I live in the countryside so there may be rats around I don't know. Has anyone got any comments about this please?

The advertising for HotBin says that nothing can be guaranteed to be vermin proof. However, the material that HotBins are made from is quite sturdy. In my experience, the lids are a good fit. Also, the HotBin wall is about 35 mm thick. That is quite a deterrent for even the most determined rat..
