If using the leachate as a fertiliser, what ratio is recommended to use with a gallon of water? I've only had the bin a short while and have drained the leachate once.

I've just been adding whatever I get to a 2 gallon watering can each week. No idea if that's right but I can't see that it would do any harm. -

This is the advice on the web site.
Always dilute liquid fertiliser (leachate) at a ratio of 1:10 (1 part liquid fertiliser (leachate) to 10 parts water) -
Nick where did you see this because the last sentence on page https://www.hotbincomposting.com/blo...al-hotbin.html says it "can then be used undiluted as a lovely liquid feed on your garden"

I have the same concern. It looks like pretty potent stuff. Too potent I would have thought to be used neat. Also, does any one know whether the leachate is likely to be nitrate rich or potash rich?Comment
