  • Leachate as fertiliser

If using the leachate as a fertiliser, what ratio is recommended to use with a gallon of water? I've only had the bin a short while and have drained the leachate once.

I've just been adding whatever I get to a 2 gallon watering can each week. No idea if that's right but I can't see that it would do any harm.

You can use it neat, it doesn't need to be watered down.

This is the advice on the web site.
Always dilute liquid fertiliser (leachate) at a ratio of 1:10 (1 part liquid fertiliser (leachate) to 10 parts water)

Nick where did you see this because the last sentence on page https://www.hotbincomposting.com/blo...al-hotbin.html says it "can then be used undiluted as a lovely liquid feed on your garden"

I have the same concern. It looks like pretty potent stuff. Too potent I would have thought to be used neat. Also, does any one know whether the leachate is likely to be nitrate rich or potash rich?
